More than 25 years ago the Friends of the Library Speaker Series began. Now it is our most popular offering by far. We have had the great pleasure of hosting many phenomenal authors including Judy Blume, Ann Cleeves, S.A. Cosby, Fiona Davis, Sam Sifton, Carl Hiassen, Tom Perrotta, and many more.
Our 2027 Speaker Series kicks off on Monday, January 11, with Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Marie Howe, sponsored by the Key West Literary Seminar. Speakers continue every Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. through March 15, in the Palm Garden.
These events are not ticketed, except for the February 8 Annual Gala. Guests are seated on a first-come, first-seated basis. We generally can accommodate everyone. Gates open at 5:30. In the event of rain, the event will take place inside the library.
