Approximately 7.5 miles, utilising the top section of the High Peak Trail, and country lanes. This route is fully surfaced, predominantly level and on consistent going. As such it makes for an ideal walk and trot only, steady option for less experienced combinations. Far reaching views across the dales can be enjoyed on the set out and return section, with the route connected into a loop via country lanes.Worth Noting:
The High Peak Trail is multi-user and it is likely that walkers with dogs, cyclists and runners may be encountered. There is also the potential for meeting an off road wheelchair or tramper.
One section of connecting bridleway is limestone hardcore surfaced and may be stony.
Livestock may be present alongside the route.
Part of the route is on road on a small country lane and there is a short connection section on a larger B road.
One section of bridleway passes close by a working quarry.
Parking is pay and display with maximum charges for horse transports of £9.60 for all day.
Group size limited to 6+guide. All riders must have their own BHS gold or equivalent public liability insurance. Under 18s are welcome but on a first visit must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider.
