About this Event
This in-person talk, held here at the Grapevine Centre, is a warm and accessible exploration of how our biology shapes stress, safety, and connection. Led by Dr Sally Eccleston, HCPC Registered Psychologist, Somatic Therapist and Yoga Teacher, this talk introduces polyvagal theory in a clear, grounded way that makes sense in everyday life. Sally will guide you through how the vagus nerve influences mood, energy, and emotional resilience, why fight–flight and shutdown are normal adaptive patterns, and how understanding your own nervous system states can shift the way you move through challenge. Blending psychology, somatics, and embodied practice, Sally will also share simple, science-backed tools for self-regulation that you can begin using immediately. From grounding and gentle breathwork to easy somatic movements that soothe a stressed system, you’ll create a personalised toolkit for cultivating steadiness and wellbeing in daily life. This session offers evidence-based wisdom with a deeply compassionate approach - empowering you to reconnect with your inner sense of safety, calm, and ease.
