About this Event

This 2-hour, seven-week daytime course is on a Thursday 1pm - 3pm at our new Adult Learning Centre in Ipswich.

Who is this course for?

Just perfect for complete beginners or those with just a little knowledge of the language.

Learning Spanish as a beginner can boost your confidence, improve your memory, and open the door to new friendships — all while building useful language skills in a fun and supportive setting.

Week 1

• How to properly introduce yourself, how to ask basic questions when meeting someone. We will cover the weather and how to tell the time. We will distinguish between formal/informal talk.

Week 2

• Food/vegetables/fruits - we will cover how to ask for food at supermarkets, markets, grocery stores.

Week 3

• Directions. How to ask and give directions. We will cover the cardinal points, slangs to use/watch out for when giving an address. Expressions used when talking about time.

Week 4

• Modes of transport. We will cover the different ways to get from one place to another and how to buy train/bus/tube tickets. We will cover language used to find bus stops, to talk about diversion, traffic, etc.

Week 5

• How to order food at restaurants, cafes, pubs. We will talk about tapas. We will cover times when Spaniards/Latin Americans eat.

Week 6

• We will talk about verbs to give an opinion. We will discuss the different verbs that do not have ending change.

Week 7

• We will discuss the verbs ending in "ar" "er" "ir". We will use several verbs to facilitate communication.

What do I need to bring?

We would suggest a pen and a notebook

Please remember when putting in ticket information for more than one ticket that the correct information is provided for each individual person.

You will need to complete a short enrolment form in the centre before the course begins, we can help you with this and it won't take long (approx 5 mins) we just ask that you bring proof of ID.
