Join us for Boulder Arts Week and celebrate the 56th Anniversary of Earth Day in this wonderful space that is woman owned and LGBTQ+ friendly at Junkyard Social Club in beautiful Boulder, Colorado! As a musician and activist, I will be sharing my multimedia presentation with art, photography, science and live music I created in 2012, Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do? Ask yourself “What can I do?” You can be part of the solution! Have fun learning all kinds of simple acts we can all take to create more sustainable communities and this beautiful planet we share!
Our precious planet is like a spaceship out in space. We only have so much water, air, resources that will NOT be re-supplied! The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) states that over 40% of our greenhouse emissions come from the way products are extracted, produced, transported, and gotten rid of (even recycling takes energy). They also say that striving for zero waste is one of the easiest and quickest ways to fight climate change!
"Spaceship earth is not really a metaphor: we've got one planet, and it's experiencing unprecedented mechanical difficulties. This presentation helps remind us how we can do our part to get it back on course.” - Bill McKibben best selling author and founder of 350.0rg
"Laurie's "What Can I Do?" Spaceship Earth is powerful!" - Jared Polis - Governor Colorado
"This woman taught me more in an hour performance about what I can do to help save our planet than I've learned in the past 10 years!" - Stacy
