About this Event

Would you like to learn how to grow your own food?

Join us at Allens Cross Community Garden for Sow & Grow, a practical outdoor growing session led by Jackie, Centre & Community Garden Manager, who will guide you through the basics of growing food at home — even if you don’t have a garden!

Sow & Grow forms part of Grow Your Own Brum (26 February–4 March), a city-wide campaign designed to make growing your own food fun and accessible, while highlighting the positive impacts on wellbeing, the environment and our connection to food.

During our week long campaign, we’ll be sharing tips and infographics to help 'Grow your Own Brum' , please check out our blog page for more infomation.

You’ll learn:

The benefits of growing your own food

How seasonality affects what we grow and eat

How to grow a range of plants including root vegetables, beans, peas, herbs and salads

Different growing methods, including options for small spaces and containers – indoors and outside

What plants need to grow strong, healthy, and productive

All participants will receive a FREE grow-your-own starter pack to take home and get started straight away.
