Southampton Youth Orchestra are delighted to open their season with Sibelius’ nationalistic masterpiece Finlandia and Brahms’ tortuous 1st Symphony, which took the composer 20 years to perfect in the shadow of Beethoven.BBC Young Musician of the Year Finalist Ellen Baumring-Gledhill joins us for Elgar’s ever-popular Cello Concerto.
All proceeds from tickets and raffle to go Friends of Southampton Youth Orchestras, who support young musicians across the city, as well as SYO and our training pyramid.
