About This Event

You are invited! March of Dimes Chicago, along with Meridian Health Plan of Illinois, the Village of Park Forest, and the Chicago Heights Park District, is hosting a free wellness event for families in the Chicago Southland.

Are you pregnant, a new mom, or raising young children? This event is for you. Come and get free resources, meet local service providers, and connect with your community.

What to Expect

• Farmers Market with fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, and pantry items
• Workshops and demonstrations on fatherhood and partner support, safe sleep, healthy cooking, doula care, and breastfeeding support
• Mental Health Moment: a time set aside for all attendees to focus on mental wellness and available resources
• "Ask the Provider" booths where you can speak one-on-one with healthcare professionals
• Free diapers and wipes giveaway, plus raffles and prizes
• Kids Corner with face painting, balloon art, an onesie design station, and storytime
• DJ entertainment, food, and refreshments

All activities are free. Some items are available while supplies last.

This event is open to everyone! We especially want to reach pregnant women, new moms, and families with young children living in these zip codes: 60409, 60411, 60412, 60417, 60419, 60425, 60426, 60429, 60430, 60438, 60443, 60466, 60471, 60473, 60478, and 60484.

Why This Event

May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. Many families in the south suburbs have a hard time getting healthcare, healthy food, and support during and after pregnancy. We are bringing all of these resources to you — for free — right in your neighborhood.
