South London Mushroom Club - July Outing with Arborist

💬 Let Greg introduce you to 's hear from a professional arborist who is fascinated by the whole world of trees, from urban trees to ancient trees and everything from ecology to folklore.
His day job is focused on urban tree management. Outside of that he really enjoys working with community groups to bring them closer to trees. I have attended one of his walks at AllThingsFungi Festival and it was an eye opener. I learned so much about how trees and fungi interact and how arborists' practices have evolved with emerging understanding. This will be a highlight of the year!
Please aim to arrive by 6:150PM so that we can set off at 6:30PM. We won't be able to wait for late comers. No need to bring anything other than curiosity and of course appropriate clothing depending on the weather!
Programme
Greg Packman is a professional arboriculturist and knows that site incredibly well, having been involved with the tree management there for about ten years! He can talk about how fungal/tree interactions are seen and managed and how this has changed over time.
This is a donation based event, open to those with a shared love of fungi and all things mushroom-related, living or hanging out in South London. Suggested donation: £7 (feel free to give more or less!) Donations will go towards the fee for Greg. Please note on this occasion no snacks, soft-drinks or materials will be provided. So make sure you bring your own supplies.
