Coastal Carolina University's Department of Music presents:SOUTH CAROLINA FESTIVAL OF STEEL
High school and middle school steel drum bands from around the region perform throughout the day. This year, the annual South Carolina Festival of Steel is honored to welcome special guest ensemble First Citizens Bank Supernovas Steel Orchestra from Trinidad and Tobago, directed by Amrit Samaroo. At the end of the event, CCU’s own Calypsamba performs a finale concert alongside the Supernovas Steel Orchestra, directed by Jesse Willis, professor in the Department of Music.
Saturday, April 25, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Finale performance at 6 p.m.
