About this Event

A Sound Bath Experience to Relax, Ground & Reset Your Soul

Take a Beat

In theatre, "take a beat" means hold the pause - let the silence sit a little longer than feels comfortable. In a room where performers usually feel the pull to fill every silence, this hour asks the opposite of you. The stillness isn't something to fill. It's the point. Get comfortable in it.

Time to give yourself some time away from the go, go, go; do, do, do and any sense of needing to FIX, perform, or make someone laugh – though laughter is always welcome 😊

No expectations. No judgment. No pressure to be anything, accomplish anything, or figure anything out.

Just come as you are.

This is an invitation to slow down, get comfortable, and experience an immersive sound bath in a welcoming, stress-free, judgment-free space.

Space is intimate — just 8 spots on the floor. Because the group is small, and because we're working with Himalayan (metal) singing bowls rather than crystal, many participants get to experience a bowl placed gently on or near their body — something that isn't possible in larger group sound baths. You'll feel the vibration both from the bowls resonating near you and on you, if you choose.

Settle in and allow yourself to simply be as you're surrounded by the rich, resonant vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls, tranquility bowls, tingsha, Manakamana, the delicate tones of a Koshi Air chime, and other sounds that may include gentle drumming and percussion as we hum together.

There's nothing you need to know about sound baths or meditation. There's nothing you need to do.

Just get comfortable, close your eyes if you'd like, and let the sounds and vibrations meet you where you are.

People who have experienced our sound baths have described them as:
Calming. Relaxing. Peaceful. Centering. Grounding.
A chance to slow down, be still, and simply take in the moment.

One participant described the experience as:
"A relaxing, grounding experience where you absorb vibrations around you…and it really resets your soul."

AND AFTER THE SOUND BATH…
Don't rush back into the go, go, go.
Take a few quiet minutes to reflect before we gently pack up - we'll need the room cleared by 11am. Feel free to continue your reflection, maybe bring a journal (or start a conversation with the others who just shared this experience) over a coffee at Friends & Co, right in the lobby.

Come by yourself. Come with a friend.
Come exactly as you are.
No stress. No judgment. Just space to slow down, reset, and take a beat.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Space: An intimate setting limited to 8 participants. The small group means there's often room for a Himalayan bowl to be placed gently on you if you'd like — a benefit of both the small crowd and the metal bowls, which isn’t done with crystal bowls.

Volume: Himalayan bowls do not get loud the way crystal bowls can. Expect the volume of the experience to range primarily between a quiet office and a conversation, meaning the decibels will be in the 50's to 60's range. When I play the frame drums, it's at a calm steady pace to support humming. When I play the bowls there is space for stillness. And, even when you don't hear the bowls loudly, you continue to receive the benefits of the vibrations.

Timing: Plan to get comfortable and relax for approximately an hour as you experience the sounds and vibrations of a variety of instruments. Please note the room needs to be cleared by 11am, so we'll take a few quiet minutes together before packing up — you're welcome to keep reflecting afterward over coffee at Friends & Co in the lobby.

Experience: No previous experience with meditation or sound baths is needed. This experience is for beginners and seasoned sound-bath lovers alike.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing.

What to bring: The floor here is hard, so bring what you need to feel cushioned and supported - a yoga or camping mat, blanket, pillow, eye mask, or bolster. (I will bring eye masks).

Contraindications: If you have a medical implant such as a pacemaker, or are pregnant, please message me before the event or let me know when you arrive so I can skip placing a bowl on you. If you have metal in your body, you may want to avoid having the bowls placed on or near those areas. And, if you have a neurological condition such as seizures that are triggered by sound, it is best to avoid this event unless approved by your doctor.

Responisbilities: Your only job? Show up, get comfortable, and receive.

Take a beat.
