About this event
Plena Sound invites you to an immersive sonic meditation through the therapeutic power of the gong.
The gong’s vibrations and resonance help provide a deeper understanding into ourselves and a portal for energetic transformation. Join Plena Sound for cosmic communication in real time and begin your weekend with a refreshed and restored energy.
Abney Park, one of London’s ‘Magnificent 7’ cemetery gardens and is the resting place of 200,000 people and home to Abney Park Chapel. The Chapel is a magnificent Grade II listed building that’s just undergone major restoration (now complete with underfloor heating!). It’s the oldest surviving non-denominational chapel in Europe - built in 1842. Both the gardens and chapel hold such majestic beauty.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Plena Sound will take you on a one-hour sound journey with the use of the gong. The gong offers a rich full spectrum of sound with healing power through vibration and resonance. Gong baths help to provide a space to drop into pure sensation and enter a trance like state- providing the opportunity for energetic shifts.
Once you’re here - you won’t need to do anything other than lay down, close your eyes and allow the sound to wash over you.
BENEIFITS OF SOUND THERAPY:
Using sound as a form of healing dates back to ancient cultures. Records of using gongs have surfaced from as early as ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman times.
Gongs have been used as shamanic healing tools, celebratory instruments, and a method of communication for thousands of years. Evidence suggests that gong making was known as early as 4,000 B.C. and ancient alchemy sources put the gong as far back as 16,000 B.C.,
Gong baths allow your brain to relax into an alpha or theta brainwave state which promotes relaxation, healing, and of the integration of mind and body.
A 2017 study found that music therapy may reduce symptoms of depression and promote overall mood. A 2013 study linked music to health benefits, including immune function and stress reduction.
“Gong baths offer a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It’s an amazing healing tool because the frequencies surpass the intellectual part of the brain and travel to the core of the cellular system where the healing qualities are fully absorbed,”
