An interdisciplinary Genre Funk, Soul Work is the wild untamed sister to traditional healing, done in our way: artistically.
A concert initiated by the radiant artistry and orbits of Aurorah, our intention with the Soul Work performance series is to present interdisciplinary artistic performances, with themes centred on awakening and enlivening the soul.
Joined by Enlight, the two musicians have been working for months integrating their talents, to form the musical foundation of this performance series.
The show will feature live music, DJs, and visual art in the city's most beloved place to dance: Wiggle Room Toronto.
Come and enjoy the sounds of classical piano, flute and warming vocals over live electronic beats, performing songs to ignite and release passions in our inclusive and colourful venue.

In a world going through its disillusionment phase, our work as artists to soothe, ignite, empower, and guide the soul, is more important now than ever. We are excited to unite artists of different genres, and untie the threads of our hearts through song, dance, and visual art.
In finding each other, Aurorah & Enlight have fused their classical roots and electronic realizations in a synergy that is exponentially phenomenal. We're overjoyed to light the beacons of celebration, community, authentic expression, and love.

About the Artists

AURORAH
Classical Pianist, Vocalist, Percussionist, Composer, Producer & Interdisciplinary Collaborator
Aurorah weaves seamless sonic tapestries with threads of lush classical keys, powerful vocals, live synth & percussion layers, and electronic production. Each piece is a unique sonic work of art, combining her classical roots with genres of house, drum & bass, trip-hop, melodic house, atmospheric vibes, tribal house, dub step, bass house, middle eastern and down-tempo grooves.
Spearheading her third interdisciplinary event, she is overjoyed to be officially beginning the Soul Work project with such talented and diverse artists, and is excited to watch it grow.
Toronto-born of Greek decent, this award-winning composer and vocalist is a highly sought-after performer and creator, having performed on every kind of stage both solo, collaboratively, and compositionally throughout her lifetime. With original music, reimagined covers, and interdisciplinary collaborations she delves into the depths of human vulnerability, cradling and inspiring strength, to provide deep and tangibly moving performances and recordings.
A truly renaissance woman, Aurorah has extensive experience in the arts of dance, theatre, performance art, atmospheric design, and visual art, which cross over into her compositions and performances adding a sense of story and drama to the music. An authority of atmospheres, forever changing with the waves and whims of her artistry, Aurorah aims at the core of her audiences, to awaken and reignite the light within.

ENLIGHT
Enlight is known as a vocalist and freestyler rapper, who has been performing since 1997, and in that time, has earned the respect of many in the Toronto underground, effectively communicating the message: Love.
Classically trained flautist, and self taught multi-instrumentalist with a wide range of genres at his fingertips, Enlight has honed his improvisational skills in various genres of music, and is perhaps best known in the style that saved his soul: jungle.
Enlight first burst onto the scene as the MC for the seminal hip-hop/jazz group Gruvasylum and Cuban jazz outfit Cruzao, led by Brownman Ali who is known internationally as an award-winning jazz composer and as the trumpet player for Guru’s Jazzmatazz. Over the years he has served as MC for Medicine Muffin, Sixteenarmedjack, Jawbone, Spazzmonk, Frankie Gunns, Marcus Visionary, Rumbleton, Klute, Rollin’ Cash, Purrpelle, Capro, Sidenote, COI, Hans Ohm, Sassa’le, Jungle PhD, ill.gates & gaDJet to name more than a few.
Toronto born of Trinidadian descent, Enlight has been involved with the likes of Architextures, Dubslingers, Illegal Sound, Promise Cherry Beach, and most recently has been welcomed into the Drumcraft crew, as well as hosting DnB rooms for the Wiggle Family. In recent years, Enlight has been branching out to other artistic disciplines, most notably dancing and DJing, in no small part because of his long time friend and protege, NostraBrammus.
He can be found out and about with blue in his beard, a smile on his face, and a kick in his step, smashing up dance floors all over the city.

SEKS
Stands for Sabrina Elizabeth Kalli Somethings, because some things are more than just things. Primarily a visual artist, SEKS works with traditional & mixed media visual art, graphic design, jewelry & fashion design and video installations. You can find her VJ work on any given weekend as the resident Projection Artist at Wiggle Room Toronto.
An artist of many flavours, touching on concepts of identity, connection, and perception. In our performance of Soul Work, she will be offering her visuals but also her voice! Her musical expression comes from a deep need to communicate, share, and reveal as much as may be possible in any given moment.

NOSTRABRAMMUS
Dance floor veteran and life long music lover, NostraBrammus has been recently rocking crowds and honing his craft spinning dance floor-friendly house and tech-house tracks at local festivals, pop-up parties, and clubs around Toronto including PhantomFest, Camp Wiggly & Wiggle Room Toronto. Our community teller of future elation fires up dance floors dropping an eclectic blend of bouncy, bassy and groovy house that is sure to elevate and enlighten the soul.

Wiggle Room is a vibrant hub for emerging dance music, artists, and events. Our dance floor is a platform for local communities to build collective joy, positivity, and inspiration, making it the perfect venue for Soul Work. With is stellar staff, great sound, welcoming atmosphere, and bouncy beats, Wiggle Room is a place for stories and friendships to unfold and develop.
One of my favourite things at Wiggle Room is the forever evolving decor, which is contributed to by a rich community of artists of all kinds.
