Saturday 11/7 Songwriters in the Round at The Rookery with Jason Bales, Kent Nickerson, Danny Sandlot
With a voice somewhere between Roy Orbison and Dwight Yoakam, the songs of Jason Bales pull from Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and early country, blues, and rock and roll.
Kent Nickerson is a Durham-based songwriter whose band Brother Kent explores the American sonic tradition. Equal parts The National and The Band, it’s Indie-edged Americana with storytelling always at the heart.
For fans of Jeff Tweedy, Hiss Golden Messenger, Fruit Bats, and This is Lorelai, Danny Sandlot brings the weight of every song he’s ever loved to every word he writes and every line he sings.
