Regular chantey sing THIS FRIDAY, good people! Bring your songs, your drink+tip money, hydrate: come ready to sing.

Wherever they put us: sometimes the lobby, sometimes the "event center" behind the lobby, occasionally outside.
7pm-9pm
We start on time + end on time, but you can drop in + out whenever. If there's an after-party, it'll be elsewhere: feel free to initiate if there are more or saltier songs to be sung!
what else?
Chanteys are the point: maritime music, work songs with fun-to-sing, easy-to-pick-up choruses (it's what our conveners, the Ship's Company Chanteymen, do best!). A capella "pub" songs are also welcome: similar, with great rousing oft-repeated choruses that everyone can join. Double bonus points if water is mentioned. There is a great tradition of this. Trust me: if you love to sing you'll pick it up quickly.
Keep it family-friendly!
There is a fresh new "chantey hymnal" or "chantey-nal", a robust book of songs + lyrics: geek treasure! Sometimes there are copies available if you want one. If so, please bring $5 cash. We try not to read from it as we sing, but it's helpful to nudge memories or learn new songs.
Format is not performance, but a circle. When it's your turn you can either sing + lead us (best!), request a song you love + you're pretty someone else can lead + you can sing along with (also fine!) or pass. You get a couple of passes, especially if you're new or (like me) a closet (!?) introvert.
If you can, come early for dinner, there are many great spots in downtown (+ in West Hillsborough too!.) Please patronize the bar at the Inn, but know that it's Friday night + can be busy. Be patient + tip your bartenders well so they want us back!
