Songcraft in the Round is a quarterly concert series curated by Lehigh Valley-based singer/songwriter Alex Radus. The Songcraft series introduces the next generation of “must hear” up-and-coming songwriters to Godfrey’s stage. Each concert features Alex and two touring/regional emerging artists, performing their original music in the round and exploring the craft of songwriting. Expect an unforgettable night of compelling story and song, intimate performances, and a backstage pass to the art of songcraft. Our next edition of the Songcraft series features Radus in the round with Lancaster, PA-based Andrew Pauls and formerly of PA, and now Asheville, NC-based Owen Walsh.
Andrew Pauls

Andrew Pauls is an award-winning songwriter, community-builder, grant writer, a climate advocate, a cyclist, and a sometimes-gardener. He is fascinated by the small stories that scaffold our lives– the tiny triumphs and tragedies that shape us into who we are. Andrew is in love with the world, and each of his hand-crafted songs reveal his curiosity about everyday things. On stage, Andrew welcomes the listener to join him in his state of wonder– as if he were pointing at the sky and shouting, "wow, look at the moon!"
Owen Walsh

Owen Walsh has been telling stories and performing music his entire life. Born and raised on the banks of the Lackawaxen River in Honesdale, Pennsylvania—a small, historic coal-mining town that spawned the American railroad—Owen grew up surrounded by relics of 19th-century American life and imagery ripe for musical exploitation. Owen began playing violin at the age of three, studying formal repertoire like Mozart concertos and Bach sonatas. At 12 years old, he found his dad's dusty, old Epiphone guitar tucked away in a closet and taught himself how to play. Soon after he learned his first few chords, Owen began writing songs. He's followed in the long tradition of Americana folk music, in which lyrics are equal in importance to the melodies that bind them. He started gigging as a high schooler, playing mostly for tips at local pubs around town, and he's never looked back. In 2023, he released his debut album "On My Way" which charted at #9 on Folk Radio. He now lives and performs in Asheville, NC.

Known for his signature “genre whiplash,” he blends whimsical and poignant storytelling with an eclectic mix of Americana, swing, blues, and folk. Alex has opened for Livingston Taylor, Richie Havens, Darrell Scott, and Laurie MacAllister, and performed with John Gorka as part of the Razzy Dazzy Spasm Band. Alex was selected as a 2024 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist, earning a “Most Wanted” spot on the 2025 Main Stage. Alex was awarded a youth scholarship to the Augusta Heritage Center, where he honed his distinctive fingerstyle guitar and deep appreciation for traditional music. As John Gorka says, “Alex Radus is a remarkable artist… surely worth going out of your way to hear.”
