Son of Survivors: A Memoir with Gerard Lob
About this Event
Join Gerard Lob as he recounts his family’s Holocaust experiences, including arrest, deportation, and survival at Auschwitz and Drancy. In his memoir, Gerard highlights personal stories of loss, resilience, and the importance of remembrance and education to prevent future atrocities. The narrative emphasizes the need to honor victims, understand history, and ensure such horrors never recur.
Gerard, the son of two Holocaust survivors, dedicates his life to preserving his family’s story and educating future generations. A former international banking professional, he regularly speaks to students and educators about the Holocaust, drawing on his father’s experiences in the French Resistance and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Gerard has authored numerous articles and editorials on the fate of the Jews in France and participates to the Yom HaShoah commemorations. Through Holocaust education and remembrance, Gerard works to ensure the lessons of the past are never forgotten.
