Something Funky Film Festival Pop Up

• Black women screenwriters, directors, and producers take center stage at this one-night-only Funky Film Festival Pop-Up, an intimate showcase spotlighting bold, original storytelling that centers the Black women experience. This inaugural pop-up brings together filmmakers, actors, creatives, and community members for an evening of independent cinema, culture, networking, and creative collaboration.
• Guests will begin the evening with a red carpet arrival, setting the tone for a vibrant celebration of emerging voices in film. The program will feature a curated slate of short films that highlight the perspectives, artistry, and narratives of Black women both behind and in front of the camera. Each selection reflects the spirit of independent filmmaking; authentic stories, visionary creators, and powerful cultural expression.
• Following the screenings, the festival transitions into an interactive experience with Sip & Act, a live improv and performance segment designed for actors and creatives to participate in spontaneous scenes and collaborative exercises. This engaging moment invites actors to showcase their talent, connect with filmmakers, and spark new creative partnerships, turning the evening into both a cinematic event and a creative networking hub.
• More than a screening, this pop-up festival is a celebration of storytelling, community, and collaboration, a space where creatives gather to support independent film and uplift the voices of Black women in cinema.

Important Note:Tickets must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door.
