Somerstep is a group of dancers and musicians based in Crewkerne. Their wide repertoire continues the tradition of step dancing and social dancing in the South West with a lively combination of authenticity and individuality.
Expect exuberant dancing and exhilarating music with some of the best musicians in the South West playing locally collected tunes for dances such as the Dorset four hand reel and the East Coker ribbon dance. Caller Steve’s clear instructions make these appealing, traditional, sometimes quirky social dances suitable for everyone. Several short intervals provide an opportunity to enjoy captivating performances of intricate stepping and clogging.
