Somatic Yoga + Social Hour
About this Event
Join us for a pay-what-you-can, somatic yoga class with Jordan McDonald and Erin Lingo! All bodies are welcome at this beginner-friendly session. After class, we'll head over to Soul'n Vinegar, where all participants will receive $5 off their beverage of choice!
This yoga and somatic class is your permission slip to finally stop white-knuckling your way through life. We'll move slowly, breathe on purpose, and actually listen to what your body's been trying to tell you (spoiler: it's probably "please stop sitting like that"). No pretzel poses, no competitive flexibility, no judgment if the most advanced thing you do all class is successfully exhale. Just gentle, intuitive movement designed to coax your overworked nervous system down from the ceiling and remind you that being a human is hard enough without forcing yourself into a headstand. Come as you are, wear the comfy pants, and leave feeling slightly less like a clenched fist. All bodies welcome - yes, even yours.
A portion of this class's proceeds will be donated to Richmond Legal Fund. The suggested donation is $15–$25, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Please bring a yoga mat. Suggested props: yoga blocks, a bolster or pillow, a blanket, and a yoga strap or hand towel.
Schedule:
- Class: 6:30-7:15pm
- Social Hour: 7:15-8pm
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for parking and check-in. Preregistration is required for all participants, and no late entry is permitted more than five minutes after the start time.
