About this Event
They say the body keeps the score. But how do we wipe the slate clean?
Fight or flight is real and it lives in our nervous systems.
But in today's world, when we're activated into "fight" mode because of a microagression at work or that asshole in traffic (or any time we have to hear the President's voice) we have few safe and socially acceptable avenues to release that energy.
Somatic Strike was created to be one of those avenues.
Somatic Strike is a guided wellness practice that combines heavy bag work with somatic movement and release techniques — a method rooted in the body's natural ability to process and discharge stress, tension, and emotion through intentional movement.
The 50-minute, music-driven session is structured and facilitated from start to finish.
Participants move through a full somatic arc — heavy bag work, embodied movement, and vocalizations — each element designed to help the body access and release what it's been holding.
Join me Sunday, April 19th at 1pm at BOOMBOX Boxing Gym (1221 Van St SE #140, DC) in Washington, DC for our first session.

— Is curious about somatic practices but wants an accessible, active entry point
