TVKC Solstice FastCAT Event — June 18-21, 2026
University of Alaska Fairbanks, Nenana Parking Lot Field
Ever wonder just how fast your dog can run?
TVKC's FastCAT events are the perfect way to find out!

FastCAT (Fast Coursing Ability Test) is an AKC dog sport event where dogs run one at a time down a 100-yard fenced-in racing lane while chasing a lure. Timers record the dog’s run time, and that is used to see how fast each dog runs in MPH. It's fast, fun, and open to all AKC-registered dogs including mixed breed dogs.
Eight runs over four days - enter as many or as few as you like.
New to the sport? We're offering a Fun Run on Wednesday evening, June 17 for dogs who have never chased a lure before. Puppies 4 months to under 12 months can participate in the Bunny Hop, also on Wednesday evening.
Registration is open for entries May 27 - June 12, 2026.
$25 per run | Fun Run: $5 for club members / $10 for non-members | Bunny Hop: $10
Springwind Photography will be photographing dogs at the event! It is a great opportunity to get some awesome action pictures of your dogs. Check out their albums from the previous FastCAT events: https://springwindphotography.smugmug.com/Fast-CAT
