Join us for a special Balboa class dedicated to empowering and enhancing the skills of followers, led by the exceptional Amy Lu! Focusing on providing tools and advice to physically and mentally empower individuality within Balboa, Amy will guide you to dive deep into the art of following and unlock new levels of creativity and confidence in your dancing.
In this class, we’ll focus on:
-Quality of movement and internal flow.
-Embodied movement to unlock, unblock, and bring awareness to the body.
-Solo work on follower variations and footwork.
-Playing with rhythm and unleashing your creativity.
-Tips and tricks to navigate the challenges of social dancing and improvisation.
-Other concepts that you would like to explore, please let us know when you sign up!
This class welcomes followers of almost all levels. To get the most out of the session, you should feel comfortable with Balboa basics across all tempos – slow to fast – including the Balboa Basic, Come Around, Throw Out, and Out & Ins.
Leaders curious about movement quality, and/or the follower’s role are also welcome to join!
