Join instructor Colin Dorward for a complete immersion in beginner wheel throwing and a clay-based artistic practice. Participants will learn all the skills from the Level 1 Wheel Throwing curriculum, which cover studio and beginner-pottery foundations. Continuing for an additional 5 sessions, Colin will guide students to use their newly acquired skills to develop an independent creative vision. This could be a simple idea such as “building a giant vase” or something more abstract like “express my inner torment”, but the objective remains the same: cultivate one’s ability for independent creating in the pottery studio. Technical guidance and creative coaching, including intermediate throwing skills and advanced glazing, will help individuals realize the work they envision.
Upon completion of this class participants will have the skills and experience necessary to book studio time and work in the studio independently.
