Learn how to weave a willow foraging basket in just one day 🧺
In this workshop maker Tess Wakeling will introduce you to the ancient craft of basketry and guide you through the steps needed to weave your very own basket. Try out different weave patterns and You choose weave patterns and create your own design choosing from varied natural willow colours. Tess will show you how to use tools safely and how to select and prepare your materials.
You will make choices about weave patterns and create your own design choosing from the varied natural willow colours. You will use the skills learnt to weave a round foraging basket with an added handle.
At the end of the workshop you’ll leave with an understanding of the craft of basket making and you’ll have a unique willow basket to use for years to come.
