Soil & Soul: Growing the Good Life

We're launching a new initiative called "Soil & Soul: Growing the Good Life" because we're seeing a growing crisis in agriculture. Farmers and ranchers are facing tremendous pressure from low commodity prices, high debt, weather uncertainty, long hours, and increasing mental health challenges. In fact, farmer suicide rates are significantly higher than the general population, and farm bankruptcies are rising across the Midwest.
Our goal is simple: bring together the people who support agriculture every day and strengthen the relationships, resources, and support systems that help producers thrive.
We're starting with a gathering on July 31 at the Hutchinson Hilton for what we're calling agriculture's "First Line" professionals—congregation members, bankers, lenders, agronomists, veterinarians, co-op employees, healthcare providers, clergy, and others who work closely with farmers. Then we'll host a larger producer-focused event in November.
