About this Event
You're invited to the first in-person gathering of a new practice group exploring body-based awareness practice called Social Presencing Theater (SPT) in Atlanta!
📅 Saturday, April 12 🕒 2:30–5:30 PM 📍 1447 Church St, Decatur, GA 30030
What is Social Presencing Theater (SPT)? Despite its name, SPT isn’t “theater” in the sense there’s no performing or acting. Are you curious to learn more? Join our 15-minute Zoom intro to Social Presencing followed by optional Q&A on Friday April 4th at 6 pm.Â
We're starting a monthly in-person practice group to develop a greater embodied presence—supporting participants to feel more resourced in the moment, navigate life’s challenges with awareness and connection. We also aim to build an embodied community through deeper collective sensing in these changing times.Â
Come explore with us—and feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think might be interested.Â
SPT helps individuals and groups become more present, connected, and responsive. No performance or prior experience is needed.
Donations are welcome, but totally optional — think of it as an opportunity for an optional love offering, not a cover charge.
If you're on Facebook, feel free to share our . If you use other social media platforms regularly and would be willing to help host the SPT ATL community there, please let us know!

Meet our co-facilitators:
Sue Gilman is the Executive Director of the Atlanta Shambhala Center and has been practicing meditation and Tibetan Buddhism for over 30 years. She leads classes on mindfulness, fearlessness, and joy in everyday life, and has been teaching since 2000. Sue has been connected to Social Presencing Theater (SPT) since its early days, having attended one of the first SPT sessions led by Arawana Hayashi in the 1980s. She brings decades of experience facilitating contemplative practice groups and is passionate about weaving SPT into the fabric of community life. She sees this group as a way to deepen her own facilitation while co-creating a vibrant, embodied practice space in Atlanta.
Dr. Anouk Aimée Shambrook is a somatic executive coach (supporting body–mind–spirit integration) who supports individuals and groups in navigating complexity with clarity and presence. She began her career as an astrophysicist and NASA fellow, eventually shifting her focus from the outer universe to the inner one—from galaxies of stars to self-awareness. Her background includes training with the Trauma Resource Institute, three years of Biodanza teacher training, and studies in parts work (aware ego process) and Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy. She is also a meditation teacher whose practice is rooted in nondual awareness. Her work is guided by a deep commitment to embodied collective liberation.
