This film explores the ways in which racism is intertwined with American religion. It shows that while religion plays a part in our racial division, it is also a meaningful force in our nation’s healing and reconciliation. Individuals and communities of faith engage in addressing the issues of systemic racism, such as voting rights, income inequality and mass incarceration.
Each film segment will be followed by 15-20 minutes of group discussion led by Rev Roberta Smith and Rev Kay Albright, co-chairs of the WV Council of Churches Dismantling Racism Task Force.
Join us in Hunter Hall in the church from 530-7p for Part 1 on July 30th and Part 2 on August 27th. A light meal will be served and child care will be available. Bring your own beverage or water bottle.
Hope to see you there!
