Social bike ride from Burnaby to North Vancouver

The Burnaby local committee of HUB cycling will host a casual social bike ride on Sunday August 16, 2026 at 10:00 am. Everyone is welcome and participation is free of charge, but please register every participant here.
We will meet on Willingdon Ave near the Brentwood Sky Train station in Burnaby. Please bring a bike or e-bike and a helmet and aim to arrive shortly before 10:00 am. The ride will take about 3 hours for 25 km and end at Lonsdale Quay, where we'll socialize at a cafe. We will take "neighbourhood bikeways" (somewhat quiet streets) and multi-use paths, which are mostly comfortable to cycle on. We will also cross the Lion's Gate bridge (using the designated bikeway).
The distance and pace may be too exhausting for most children, but fairly relaxed for most teenagers and adults, although the uphill sections can be exhausting.
The ride will take place rain or shine, but we may cancel for adverse weather conditions or if there is a weather warning.
