Beyond the Brush: An Enso Calligraphy Experience
About this Event
Beyond the Brush: An Enso Calligraphy Experience is an immersive workshop led by Japanese shodōka Yuki Higuchi. Participants are invited to explore Japanese calligraphy beyond tradition, beginning with foundational brushwork before expanding into large-scale, expressive writing with oversized brushes. As the scale grows, the practice becomes more physical and intuitive—blending movement, mindfulness, and creative expression.
This unique experience encourages participants to slow down, connect inward, and discover their own expressive language through brush and gesture. It is an invitation to explore presence, spontaneity, and the beauty of imperfection through contemporary calligraphy practice.
No prior calligraphy experience is required. This workshop welcomes anyone interested in mindfulness, creativity, movement, and Japanese culture.
