Samfundet kommer på briksen, når vi 28. august slår dørene op til den populære kunstbegivenhed SMK Fridays – og til efterårets store udstilling 'Parterapi'. En udstilling, hvor de fire kunstnerduoer Bank & Rau, Hesselholdt & Mejlvang, og J&K / Janne Schäfer og Kristine Agergaard samt Randi & Katrine har indtaget SMK med en række spektakulære værker.
Vær med til en storslået udstillingsåbning fyldt med skarpvinklede art talks, kreative værksteder, stemningsfulde koncerter og massevis af performances. Tag blandt andet del i et poetisk vandritual ved J&K, eller bær fanen højt anført af Hesselholdt & Mejlvang. Du kan også opleve en catwalk tilsat gamerstole og rulleskøjter indtage museets skulpturgade, møde en ulvetæve i kørestol eller følge et transformatortårn på vandring gennem museet.
I løbet af aftenen kan du også lytte med, når duoerne Under The Elms og KALEIIDO udforsker udstillingens tematikker gennem jazzede toner, harmoniske lydlandskaber og poetiske tekster. I samarbejde med musikfællesskabet HUN SOLO – der særligt denne aften er omdøbt til HUN DUO – byder vi nemlig på en række duo-koncerter midt i kunsten.
Hele aftenen kan du naturligvis også gå på opdagelse i efterårets store udstilling og få indblik i tankerne bag udstillingen, når kurator Camilla Jalving og formidlingsinspektør Simone Pedersen tager os med bag kulisserne. Du kan også selv prøve kræfter med kunsten – både i museets store, åbne kreative værksted og i Bank & Raus pop-up workshop, hvor vi sammen slår reb. Et velfærdsreb af aflagt hospitalstøj i evig udvikling.
Får du brug for en kunstpause, kan du slå dig ned ved langborde i Skulpturgaden, hvor du hele aftenen kan købe kolde forfriskninger og håndholdt mad, mens aftenens djs omsætter efterårets store udstilling til lyd.

Society takes a turn on the couch as we throw open the doors on 28 August to the popular art event SMK Fridays – and to this autumn’s major exhibition, 'Couples Therapy'. An exhibition in which four artist duos – Bank & Rau, Hesselholdt & Mejlvang, J&K / Janne Schäfer and Kristine Agergaard, and Randi & Katrine – have taken over SMK with a series of spectacular works.
Join us for a magnificent exhibition opening filled with sharp-edged art talks, creative workshops, atmospheric concerts and a wealth of performances. Take part in a poetic water ritual by J&K, or carry the banner high led by Hesselholdt & Mejlvang. You can also witness a catwalk featuring gaming chairs and roller skates making their way through the museum’s Sculpture Street, meet a she-wolf in a wheelchair, or follow a transformer tower on a journey through the museum.
Throughout the evening, listen in as the duos Under The Elms and KALEIIDO explore the themes of the exhibition through jazzy tones, harmonic soundscapes and poetic texts. In collaboration with the music collective HUN SOLO – renamed for this very evening HUN DUO – we’re presenting a series of concerts right in the heart of the art.
All evening, you are of course also free to explore this autumn’s major exhibition and gain an insight into the thinking behind it, as curator Camilla Jalving and education curator Simone Pedersen take us behind the scenes. You can also try your hand at making art yourself – both in the museum’s large, open creative workshop and in Bank & Rau’s pop-up workshop, where we twist rope together. A welfare rope made from discarded hospital clothing, forever evolving.
If you need a break from the art, settle in at the long tables in the Sculpture Street, where cold refreshments and handheld food are available to purchase throughout the evening, while the night’s DJs translate this autumn’s major exhibition into sound.
