Join The Ripple Effect for our first Smile Mile — a community walk with purpose, bringing people together to spread love, kindness, and smiles in St. Pete.
This first Smile Mile is being held in loving memory of Ryan McLean.
Ryan’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder that we never truly know what someone is carrying or the battles they may be facing in silence. A handwritten note, a smile, a conversation, or a few words of encouragement may seem small — but to someone who needs them, they can mean everything.
So we’re coming together to turn kindness into action.
What we'll do 💌
We’ll meet at the Truth Sculpture in Vinoy Park and spend the first 15 minutes writing handwritten notes of encouragement together. Paper, pens, and everything you need will be provided.
Then we’ll walk approximately 2 miles along the St. Pete waterfront, passing our notes out to strangers, sharing smiles, giving high fives, starting conversations, and creating unexpected moments of connection along the way.
After the walk, we’ll come back together to connect as a community and light candles in honor of Ryan and the life he lived.
You don’t need to be a runner. You don’t need to know Ryan. And you don’t need to bring anything.
Just come as you are.
Whether you walk, jog, or simply join us for the connection, everyone is welcome.

Ryan’s memory will live on through every note shared, every smile created, every conversation started, and every person reminded that they don’t have to carry life alone.
