For San Mateo County Victorian Days 2026, we have added a brand-new walking tour in co-sponsorship with the Cow Palace for the Guild's participation of historic walks.
On Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 am, Trevor Applegate, Cow Palace Event Coordinator and Dr. Allison Keaney, Cow Palace CEO, will lead an approximately 90-minute tour of the venerable expo hall.
The historic Cow Palace has been a gathering and entertainment hub since 1941. Its walls are steeped in agricultural, entertainment, and political history. Please join us for the 85th anniversary open house and walk in the footsteps of Elvis, the Beatles, U2, John F. Kennedy, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Golden State Warriors, the San Jose Sharks, and the some of the most skilled cowboys and cowgirls the sport has ever known.
The tour will be on mostly flat surfaces with two short slopes. Four doorways may be too narrow for wheelchairs, but the rooms can still be seen from directly outside. One room on the tour has approximately 30 steps. Meeting Location: 2600 Geneva Avenue; enter at the corner of Geneva and Santos. Free Parking in front of the arena. Enter through the main entrance at the center open door.
After the tour concludes, participants are invited back to visit and tour the Daly City History Museum, 6351 Mission Street, where light refreshments will be served.
