SMALL FACES – OGDENS' NUT GONE FLAKE
with special guest
PHILL BROWN
There was no shortage of good psychedelic albums emerging from England in 1967-1968, and The Small Faces classic Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake doesn’t disappoint.
The darlings of the mod scene had already shown a surprising adaptability to psychedelia with the single Itchycoo Park and much of their other 1967 and Ogdens’ proved to be their crowning glory.
A young Phill Brown was the tape operator on the album. He went on to achieve legendary status as an engineer and producer working with Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Arthur Brown, Joe Cocker, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, T-Rex, Marianne Faithful, Little Feat, The Associates, Cat Stevens, Nilsson, Jarvis Cocker, Dire Straits and many, many more.
His acclaimed memoir is entitled 'Are We Still Rolling? Studios, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll – One Man's Journey Recording Classic Albums' and was published in 2010.
Happy Trails.
