January doesn’t have to start with pressure or productivity.

Slow Saturdays is a free, monthly gathering for Salford residents aged 18+, created to offer calm, connection, and simple joys in a welcoming, unhurried space.

Inspired by hygge (pronounced hue-guh), our first session — Candlelight Comfort — invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and begin the year gently.

We’ll share:

• warm tea
• soft candlelight
• a relaxed, cosy atmosphere
• optional gentle conversation

There’s no expectation to perform, share, or “do” anything. You’re welcome to come on your own, sit quietly, or chat — whatever feels right for you.

This session is free and open to Salford residents aged 18 and over.

It’s especially suited to anyone who:

• wants a calmer start to the year
• feels overwhelmed by busy schedules
• is curious about slowing down
• enjoys simple, comforting moments in good company

Nothing needed but feel free to bring these optional choices:

• wear comfortable, cozy clothing
• bring your favorite mug or cup
• bring your own pillow or blanket
