Join us for a session of guided slow-looking and intuitive creation designed to help you hit pause, step away from the daily hustle, and reconnect with yourself. We keep things flexible, letting the evening's conversation flow naturally as we engage deeply with a featured artwork by Susan Olij.
Together, we’ll share our unique interpretations and use those personal reflections as a springboard for our art-making. No art or drawing experience is needed—this is simply a welcoming space to pause, play, and create your own visual response. Come reset your mood, immerse yourself in the visual experience, and find your moment of calm.
Fees: $45/Pax Min 6. Max 15. Sign up by 17 July.
Basic art materials will be provided. Feel free to bring your own favourite art supplies and sketchbooks too!
Please note: Our venue is a wonderfully raw, minimalist space with limited furniture. We invite you to get cosy, as seating will primarily be on the floor or wooden pallets!

Cindy is a self-taught abstract artist, experimental medium-hopper, and the founder of Slowdown Art. She uses art—and making junk-art notebooks—as her go-to outlet to heal, unwind, and express things words can't quite capture. Because she naturally tends to take herself too seriously, she uses her creative practice as a playground to loosen up.
To actively challenge her inner perfectionist, Cindy frequently creates with her non-dominant hand—using it as a deliberate, wonky reminder to embrace imperfection. Her philosophy is simple: dive deep into the art, don't take yourself too seriously, and always make room to have a silly, playful time in the midst of the mess.

Susan Olij is a Singapore-based visual artist and founder of Olij Studio, a self-sustaining creative community she has run for nearly 20 years. Life drawing is the root of her practice — looking slowly, staying with a subject until it gives something up, an attention shaped by twenty years of teaching drawing and watercolour.She paints to communicate, listening now to the many points of view that reservoir of teaching has built inside her. In this session, her paintings become the point of observation — an entry into slow looking, unhurried attention, and the quiet exchange between viewer and image.To see more of her paintings, Susan has a solo show at Dentalis, 52 Craig Road currently on until 2 October 2026. Opening hours 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm, Viewing by appointment.
