An analog photography course full of analog techniques. In intense nights you will learn all steps from shooting in Black and white, development of your own b&w films, and printing your own photos in a real darkroom in Ixelles.
The lessons are in and around our Co’Lab Darkroom in Elsene and Sander speaks English French, German and Dutch so everyone can follow.
You will learn to shoot with an analog camera.
You will learn how to develop your own black and white films
You will learn how to print your own negatives into beautiful enlargements.
Sander teaches in English, French and/or Dutch.
When?
22 Sept (Elzenhof): Introduction to analogue photography, camera checks and loading film.
29 Sept (Elzenhof): Composition and the ‘analogue mindset’. We’ll head out onto the streets around Elzenhof to shoot our first rolls of film.
06 Oct (Elzenhof): Theory of chemistry & reading negatives. Preparation for the lab.
13 Oct (Co-Lab): Film development (First time in the darkroom!).
20 Oct (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom
27 Oct (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom
10 Nov (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom Night (Supervised).
17 Nov (Co-Lab): Advanced printing techniques (Contrast & Double exposure).
24 Nov (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom Night.
1 Dec (Co-Lab): Final prints & finishing.
8 Dec (Co-Lab): Portfolio review & selection for the exhibition.
