Let’s do it again / SLO Ride #3You know the drill. Ride SLO, spin yarns, rip skidz, be nice. All encouraged.
THE ROUTE I About 50km / 600m
We’ll smack a morning brew before dropping into the North Western, as per tradition. Mostly bike paths out to Te Wao Nui o Tiriwa Waitakere before a SLO winch up to some prime Sunday gravel. We’ll loop back to Kingsland via bike paths and New North. Regroup at the top & bottom of all hills. Be kind to walkers. Stay hydrated and stay snacked.
THE PACE I It’s leisurely.
THE PEOPLE I You like good times, good people, and feel a bit hedonistic on Sundays.
THE RIGS I A mix of gravel bikes and flat bar bikes. All pedal bikes.
Atomic from 10am for coffee, on the bikes at 10:30am. Finish at Garage Project around 2:00pm to rehydrate (v. important).
THINGS TO CONSIDER
- This is not a beginner ride. While the focus is social, we are all fit, experienced bike riders.
- Our routes include riding on roads. If you're not comfortable riding on busy roads, this ride isn't for you.
- Please make sure a 50km ride with an average speed of 20km/h is well within your capabilities. And, that you are comfortable riding dirt, gravel, and trail.
- Please make sure you’re comfortable riding in a bunch. If you haven’t before, this ride probably isn’t for you.
