About Slim Gritty:
The Slim Gritty Band perform an upbeat uplifting mix of original and classic Rockabilly/Hillbilly & Roots R&B tunes, with an emphasis of keeping both the listening and dancing audiences happy. Slim AKA Tim Collett of whom the band is built around has a rich heritage, being the founding member of iconic act the Convertibles and also when not performing with Slim Gritty, still performs with the amazing ‘A Band Called Twang’ Slim in various line-ups is no stranger to gigs and festivals both here in Australia and Internationally.
Slims original debut album a pared back Rockabilly offering ‘Movin On Down The Line’ was released late 2020 to much acclaim amongst his peers. Available on digital platforms the featured singles from this album were : - 'Another Man', ‘Gringo’ and ‘One More Chance’, ‘Movin On Down The Line’. In late 2022 Slims released his Roots Country/Hillbilly EP entitled ‘Lil’ Bit Country’. The first single from the EP, the rich romantic roots Country ballad ‘One More Kiss' enjoyed worldwide airplay upon its release. He then followed up with, ‘Heading Towards the Sun’, loosely described as a a Hillbilly Requiem. This track also garnered great worldwide airplay including three Nashville stations. Also may be due to its quirkiness garnered considerable airplay particularly in Europe on Indy Radio.
Brothers Adam and Matthew O’Connor share the helm and swap over seamlessly between guitar and double bass, always with one of their favourite drummers as the rudder.
The Tri-Tones also have a bunch of new originals and are excited to present them for new audiences. This is a band you're not going to forget seeing and hearing.
THE TRI-TONES. WOW This trio really got the house rocking. Multi-instrumentalists Matt and Adam O’Connor Guitar/Bass and Vox…… the minute they start playing they get your attention. It was impossible to not, dance. Loved their work on the instruments. If you like Alternative Country/Blues and Rockabilly, they sure can deliver.
