Volunteer with us on our beautiful 1 acre rooftop farm! Every day is a new adventure; from seeding to weeding to pruning, we need your help!
About this Event

Sky Farm LIC (SFLIC) is a 1 acre rooftop educational farm run by the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens (VBGCQ). Each season we grow over 5,000 pounds of produce to give away for free to families at VBGCQ, and have over 1,200 students and individuals come to learn and farm with us.

Volunteer days are a vital part of keeping our farm running! As we expand our cultivation areas, build landscaped agroecological environments, and take on facilities updates, we need your help now more than ever! Each day will be unique and tailored to the farm's needs. Tasks may include: seeding, weeding, planting, pruning, composting, light carpentry and constructions tasks, painting, materials creation for classes, and more! Work alongside us and help us maintain and grow this beautiful greenspace in the heart of Long Island City.

We're also happy to announce that our volunteership program now comes with some fun perks! In an effort to create relationship with the folks who regularly come out to help, we're happy to offer the following to regular attendees:

• 6 Volunteer Days Attended: Free SFLIC merch (including a tshirt, tote bag, and stickers)
• 8 Volunteer Days Attended: Free SFLIC merch AND 1 free ticket to a select SFLIC Fall/Winter Event
• 12+ Volunteer Days Attended: Free SFLIC merch and 2 free tickets to selected SFLIC Fall/Winter Events
