SKMG Cinema Club: Solstice Screening

Join Speak Knowledge Media Group for the kickoff of SKMG Cinema Club: Backyard Cinema with Askia.
We are building a monthly film club that runs like a book club: one shared film text, one guided conversation, one community circle.
For our Solstice kickoff, we’ll gather in a Nashville backyard for a feature or curated shorts program, followed by a 15–25 minute talkback.
The evening is designed as a neighborhood cinema classroom — rooted in Black and Indigenous traditions of oral history, place-based learning, and communal interpretation.
What to expect:
– A 90–120 minute film program
– Guided talkback after the screening
– Water + light snacks
– Community conversation
– Call for local filmmaker submissions
– Documentation through photo/video/audio with consent
Bring:
– A fold-out chair or blanket
– Water bottle if you want one
– A question for the talkback
– A neighbor, friend, or fellow film lover

$5–$10. Nobody turned away for lack of funds. Donations support projector/screen equipment, snacks, and future filmmaker honoraria.
