Skating with Pride 2026 – Ballarat Roller Derby

Ballarat Roller Derby League is excited to present our second annual 'Skating with Pride' event, raising funds for Minus18 and creating a safe, inclusive space for everyone to enjoy roller skating.
⏲ SCHEDULE
2-3.30pm: Rainbow Fun Skate (including intro to skating and safety fundamentals session facilitated by an experienced coach)
4-6pm - Full-Contact Roller Derby Exhibition Game – Ballarat Ratpack vs The World
6-8pm - Modified/Low Contact Roller Derby Scrimmage
🌈 RAINBOW FUN SKATE 2-3.30pm
Dress up in your best rainbow outfit, get on wheels and experience the fun of roller skating! All skates and protective gear provided at no extra cost; skaters are also welcome to bring their own. We'll start the session by running a quick introduction to skating, stopping and falling safely for those who need guidance. Otherwise you're good to get on skates and enjoy the great tunes.
The Fun Skate is open to all genders and anyone over the age of 6 (with parental consent required for under 18s).
🛼 ROLLER DERBY 4-8pm
We're hosting two action-packed games of roller derby, starting with a full contact game as BRDL's Ratpack take on skaters from across the state in an epic battle. A modified-contact scrimmage will follow, showcasing derby's up-and-coming superstars.

🎫 TICKETS
BRDL Members: Fun Skate (including free derby spectator pass) - $5
Non-Members: Fun Skate (including free derby spectator pass) - $15
Derby Spectator Only: $5
Tickets available via the online link or at the door. Cash and EFTPOS will be available.
There will be a canteen onsite throughout the day selling drinks, snacks and an epic selection of baked goods catering to a variety of dietary needs.
All proceeds will go towards supporting BRDL programs. We will have buckets available on the day for donations to Minus 18.

❗ Accessibility information for the event and the location:
- Doug Dean Stadium has one entrance without stairs, one with 2 stairs. Bathrooms are accessible without stairs and have one accessible stall per bathroom.
- All bathrooms will be gender neutral
- Allocated accessible seating will be available on the bottom level of the stadium seating
- There will be continual loud whistles and noise throughout the roller derby games. The fun skate will include loud music.
BRDL recognises the Wadawurrung People as the Traditional Custodians of the waterways and lands where this event is being held. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and dutifully acknowledge that these lands and waterways were never ceded.
