Linton Club Ride/Camp

CAMP/ RIDE NOTICE RIDE NOTICE – Linton June 20th & 21st
Please register by Wednesday 17th with Katrina 0427 692 214 or via the Facebook page.
Location – Corner of Brooke and Ballarat Street Linton.
(Old Linton Railway Landing) Sweep right onto the nature strip, follow the car track towards the big pine trees, camping is here.
Saturday’s ride: Muster 10:30am ride out 10:45am
Approx 25km through local bush & tracks.
Sunday’s ride: Muster 9.30am ride out 9:45am.
Aporox 15km through local bush and along the rail trail.
Recommendations –
~Horses need to have some level of fitness due to the hilly terrain we will be riding. Please do not bring unfit horses.
~Some sections are very rocky so its recommended horses with sensitive hooves be shod or wear boots, there is room to get off the tracks if needed.
~It is advised to stay close to the tracks and not wonder into the bush due to old mine sites.
Toilets are about 200m from camp BYO toilet paper just in case
Bring all camping requirements and horse yards.
BYO horse & human drinking water.
Take home all your own rubbish!
Tea at the Linton Pub Saturday night – please let Katrina know if you'd like to book into the pub when registering.
Showers & horse water are available at the pub free of charge if you have a meal.

General Ride Information -
• This will be a medium paced ride- riders should be able to walk, trot and canter in a group situation whilst always staying in control of their horse.
• All riders including day riders need to be familiar with ATHRA’s Code of Conduct, please go to www.athra.com.au
• Juniors must wear a riding helmet and carry a halter and lead rope. We recommend that everyone wears a helmet.
• Please ensure riding equipment is in safe condition.
• Kickers to be identified at Muster and must have a red ribbon plaited in their tails on the ride. Green horses should wear a green ribbon.
The Ride Coordinator reserves the right to cancel the ride if a serve/extreme weather warning has been issued.
