About this Event
Learn how to keep an eye out for invasive European green crabs by participating in a new community science project called Molt Search, run by Washington Sea Grant's Crab Team & WSU Extension.
At this Molt Search training event . . .
you'll be guided through the systematic Molt Search protocol for collecting crab molts and submitting your finds through MyCoast. You'll also learn about this new invasive and what's being done about it, as well as how to identify native and European green crabs.
When: June 15th 10am
Where: The Stevens Center at Padilla Bay Reserve
What: Free, hands-on training and practice of Molt Search protocols, crab ID, and green crab basics
Registered attendees will receive an email ahead of the event with more specifics. Please dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes, and bring a bag or other container to collect molts in.
