About this Event

Calling all earth skills enthusiasts, lovers of nature, and curious learners! Join us for our free, inclusive, and engaging monthly Wilderness on Tap series, where we'll come together to celebrate our deep connection with nature, learn, and connect with like-minded individuals. Each month will feature a different theme, skill, or topic and some form of group discussion.

May’s topic of discussion:
Primitive Hunting Technology

Primitive hunting technology encompassed a variety of tools and techniques that early humans utilized to secure food. The atlatl, a spear-throwing tool, extended the reach and force of a hunter's throw, increasing their chances of a successful hunt. Slings were also common, allowing hunters to propel stones at prey from a distance. Archery played a significant role, enabling hunters to launch arrows with precision and power, bringing down game from afar. Additionally, traps were ingeniously designed by early humans, leveraging natural materials and clever mechanisms to ensnare animals for consumption. These methods showcase the resourcefulness and adaptability of our ancestors in securing sustenance from the wild.
