The San Juan County Certified Burner program is designed to improve planning for prescribed burns on private land. This one day class will be led by San Juan County Fire, and NMSU Forest and Fire Specialist. Participants will become a San Juan County Certified burner, and will have a greater understanding of safe burning practices. Free registration is limited to the first 20 participants
Schedule:
8am-registration
8:30-12 Fuels, weather and topography, understanding fire
Lunch (included with free registration)
1-4pm Application of fire in the landscape, hand-on fire demonstration
