This world can be a scary place, particularly for women and LGBTQIA+ people. Recent events and the current political climate in our country has caused many to feel anxious, unsettled, and frankly a bit scared. The team at OutFit is passionate about empowering our community. This is why we’ve teamed up with Karen Farthing and Courtney McCarthy-Beadnell to bring you a Situational Awareness Self Defense Mini Course!When people hear the words “self defense” it usually provokes thoughts of breaking choke-holds, body slamming assailants, and crotch-kicking bad guys… well, we’re here to show you that self defense is so much more than that! In Karen & Courtney’s mini course you will learn how to better identify a dangerous situation before it escalates to the point of a physical attack and ways to avoid becoming the victim of a violent crime. Both instructors are passionate about protecting yourself with non-lethal tools and will instruct you on how to properly use Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), AKA pepper spray! If you’d like to leave the class with a live agent in hand, please make sure to select that option upon check-out of your ticket purchase.

There is limited seating available for this event and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $10.00, and if you’d like to leave with a live agent of pepper spray, it is anadditional $20.00. If tickets sell out, we will explore the possibility of offering a second class at a later date.
