About this Event
Sistren & Sorrel is a monthly book club for Caribbean heritage women. (Whether you're Black, Asian, indigenous or mixed Caribbean descent.)
We inherit more than hair and mannerisms, patterns get passed down too, the ones we're still unlearning. This is a space to read stories that hold our history and talk about what's still living in us because of it. Healing work done together, instead of alone.
Each meeting opens with ritual and closes with a creative response- art inspired by what we have read.
What to expect:
- Ritual/meditation opening
- Sorrel
- book discussion
- art session (materials provided)
What to bring:
Just yourself and the book if you'd like to reference it. No need to have it fully finished to attend.
