The FDA mandates that all insurance companies cover a yearly screening mammogram for all women 40 years or older. Screening mammograms are considered preventative medicine and, therefore, are no cost to the patient as long as the mammogram meets screening criteria. Family or personal history of breast cancer can qualify a patient to start screening earlier than 40 years of age. Please ask your healthcare provider about when you should start screening mammograms. Please call BGH Mammography Scheduling (208.265.3349), and we can help get you scheduled as quickly as your insurance will allow while still being covered as a screening exam.
