About this Event

Sip & Learn: Why wait? The importance of prevention in youth mental health

Join us for an evening of neuroscience, psychology and conversation exploring one of the most pressing issues in youth mental health today.

Rates of mental health problems in children and adolescents are rising. Most responses focus on treatment. But what if we shifted earlier?

In this session, Dr Alex Lloyd (UCL) explores why prevention offers a more effective and sustainable approach. He will share research on adolescent development, outline the barriers to early intervention, and introduce a new school-based programme designed to reduce risk before problems take hold.

This is part of the Mind Circles ‘Sip & Learn’ series — a space for evidence-based ideas, shared in a relaxed and social setting.
